The one-set unit has eight drying arms that carefully provides enough warm air to dry a combination of ski boots,jackets, helmets and gloves. This smaller unit plugs into a 110 Volt outlet and weighs only 65 pounds.
At the other end of Cyclone dryers, the much larger ten-set unit is equipped with 96 drying arms and produces enough warm air to dry ten turnouts. This unit can handle a lot of wet equipment all at one time, for the convenience of a large company. This larger unit plugs into and 220 volt outlet and weighs 500 pounds. In comparison, the three, five and six unit sets also plug into a 220 Volt outlet and range in capability from drying three turnouts, to five, or six turnouts at one time.
Until the Cyclone Drying System emerged on the market, quick and effective drying was not available. Clothing and other wet items were hung out to dry which can take a very long time, especially the heavy and awkward turnouts that firefighters use.
